Letter To Nyakundi: Who Is Killing Chiefs?
Newsroom Updated 1 min read
Caption: Chiefs at a gathering. While corrupt politicians have many security officials guarding them, chiefs have remained vulnerable with the rise in the murder of chiefs all over Kenya based on their job descriptions. Something must be done! Fellow chiefs it's now evident more clearer and in no uncertain terms than never before that, death is rearing it's ugly head on chiefs everywhere they are.
It seemingly matters not whether a Chief is at work, home or otherwise but it matters that chiefs remain vulnerable and always at risk of grievous or deadly attacks courtesy of their job description.
The travesty is that no one seems to care going by the loud silence of the media, line ministry, other government agencies and the general public.
We all bitterly recall the so recent incidents where Kenyans have witnessed an upsurge of clandestine killings and violent attacks on Chiefs by both known and unknown assailants.
Had this happened to parliamentarians, media personalities, lawyers and or some other state officers, the whole country would have temporarily been brought to a halt as media would have amplified and magnified the occurrence to forcefully occasion remedial actions by the relevant authority.
Kwani sisi ni mende?
Are Chiefs a bunch of cockroaches?
Somebody answer me. I could be ignorant.
