Kenyan Security Firm Jeff Hamilton Holds Back Employee's Certificate After He Quits Job
Newsroom Updated 1 min read
A devastated former employee of Kenyan security firm Jeff Hamilton has written to this site explaining his tussle with the company after they refused to give his KCSE certificate back.
According to him, he had been working with the company since 5th May 2017 to 29th November of the same year. He quit the job immediately he received his November salary due to harsh working conditions.
Among the requirements during the job application was submitting an original KCSE certificate which he adhered to. Now after quitting his job the company has denied him his certificate. Upon inquiry he was told to pay Ksh. 5,985 to claim back his certificate, something he believes is an injustice being done to him.
The letter he received from the company after he left the job is contradictory. It says that he left the job on September of 2017 instead of November 2017. Caption: Resignation acceptance letter from Jeff Hamilton security firm to their former employee. It is beyond me why the company would keep withholding his documents yet he already peacefully left the job. We urge relevant authorities to move in swiftly and ensure he gets his certificate back and consequently take appropriate action on the security firm.
