On Tuesday afternoon, Kenyans on social media went into panic mode after news broke that Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth had succumbed to cancer.
Within seconds, Okoth's name was on top of Kenya's trending topics as people inquired about the authenticity of the news which were first broken by Jubilee sycophant and online influencer Polycarp Hinga in a tweet which he later deleted. The news would later be confirmed as fake with the Kibra Member of Parliament issuing a statement confirming he was alive and well and that the rumours were false.
“I'm alive and kicking. Folks should stop killing me before my time with rumors,” read the statement in part.
