Story · Iniquity Bank: 'Equity Bank Stole Ksh180,000 From Me', A Mombasa Hawker Says

Equity Bank Group CEO James Mwangi at the celebration of 35 years of service.

INIQUITY: immoral or grossly unfair behaviour. Similar words: Wickedness, sinfulness, immorality impropriety, vice, evil, criminality, villainy, obscenity. A few days after celebrating 35 years of existence, Equity Bank's revamp seems to be in name only.

A Mombasa Hawker is accusing the bank of stealing his Ksh. 180 k savings from his account.

James Liayuka who sells carrier bags at kongowea market in Mombasa says he had saved the money at the bank for almost 3 years.

Unfortunately, all his savings have mysteriously vanished from his account held at Equity Bank

When will the CBK take action?, because the DCI are too slow and the Banking Anti-Fraud unit seems to have been bought.

The cases of theft by staff especially through Equity Bank's Equitel are alarming. Photo of Bank Statement More To read more about fraud at Equity Bank, search #FraudulentKenyanBanks or Equity Bank on the search function on this site.
