President William Ruto signs an Executive Order at State House, Nairobi The Hustler Fund now has a management team in place following four appointments through a special edition of the Kenya Gazette issued on Friday.

The initiative viewed as President Ruto's pet project is a financial inclusion fund that aims to empower the youth and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by providing them with access to capital.

Dr Ruto has appointed Ms Irene Muthoni Metha-Karani as the non-executive chairperson of the Financial Inclusion Fund board, citing the powers given to him by the Public Finance Management Act to do so.

MSME Development Cabinet Secretary (CS) Simon Chelugui also appointed three people to the fund’s board.

The three are Mr Lawrence Kibet Chelimo, Mr Paul Ndore Musymi and Ms Hardlyne Lusui.

They will be members of the board for three years starting January 13, alongside Ms Muthoni.

There is limited information available online about Ms Muthoni, the chairperson appointee, but the other three board members have an array of experience.

Mr Kibet is a lawyer who is a certified public secretary and also a certified public accountant, with various roles in the capital markets scene. Mr Ndore, also a lawyer, has been an ally of former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko.

Ms Lusui is a banker who has previously sat on the board of Consolidated Bank.

Mr Musyimi is described as a masterful storyteller who understands and preaches the Hustler narrative with a convincing depth and tone.

Analysts say that his energy, skills, commitment, and vibrant leadership make him an ideal candidate to propel the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda. Hustler Fund Management board unveiled The Hustler Fund aims to be a game-changer in the Kenyan economy by providing capital to the youth and SMEs, which are considered key drivers of economic growth.

The fund's management team is expected to play a critical role in achieving this goal by providing the necessary guidance and direction to make this initiative a success.

The appointments made by President Ruto are a sign of the government's commitment to empowering the youth and SMEs, and to creating an environment that is conducive to economic growth and development.

With a strong management team in place, the Hustler Fund is poised to make a significant impact on the Kenyan economy and to help create a brighter future for the country's youth and small businesses.
