Story · “Hii Ni Bangi” — David Ndii Responds To Uhuru Kenyatta After He Tells Nurses There Is No Money

On Wednesday, President Uhuru Kenyatta made it clear that the government wouldn't be getting into any dialogue with the striking nurses.

Uhuru said he wasn't going to raise “the bloated and unsustainable” public wage bill any further.

He went on to tell the nurses to stop putting their stomachs ahead of the interests of Kenyans.

“There is no money and there will never be enough for us to just push for salary increments every day because if that is the case when will we serve Kenyans? We need to grow our economy, our country and its prosperity then talk about salaries.” said Uhuru.

In a response to Uhuru's latest remarks, world renowned economist and public intellectual Dr David Ndii, through his Twitter handle, simply quoted Kenyan news source Daily Nation's tweet and said “Bangi”.

Suggesting that the president made those utterances under the heavy influence of the psychoactive drug, which he himself has been pushing for its legalization.
