Newsroom Updated 1 min read
An alleged “serial masturbator” who has been causing disturbance among citizens around Brisbane’s inner-city for the past four years has finally been caught by the Queensland Police with the help of Google Maps.
The accused who is a 43-year old have been wandering around the streets of Brisbane and publicly performing indecent acts causing unrest and unease among the residents of the area.
According to police records, the accused’s masturbation spree is believed to be between 2015 and 2019.
Many females have reported seeing the man publicly performing masturbation act within the area. Despite numerous complaints from members of the public, the police were unable to catch the man for over 4 years.
The accused was however captured with the help of Google Maps’ Street View. It's understood detectives were able to use that Google Maps image, which showed him standing near a house..
According to Queensland police the man would be charged with 27 indecent act counts. “It could be possible more offenses have occurred over the extended time frame … what we’re doing is appealing to the public to see if they notice the outfit and they might be able to piece together an incident. Given the time frame, it would be understandable if there were more victims.”-Queensland Police Spoksperson
