Newsroom Updated 1 min read
This afternoon, Flying Squad officers have nabbed Ksh. 17 billion suspected to be in fake currency at Barclays Bank.
The money was found hidden in a safe container at the bank's Queen's Way Branch where the officers had camped for hours while investigating individuals suspected to have been moving fake money through the bank.
The police are yet to release an official statement on the matter but we shall update our readers immediately they do.
This incident comes just days after former Sports Cabinet Secretary Rashid Echesa was fired over his involvement in a mega fake currency scandal that also touched several State House officials.
Barclays Bank has also been previously linked to various sexual scandals, tribalism, underpayment of employees, tribalism and recently the Ruaraka Land Saga where they were accused of helping the looters launder their stolen money.
