The Truth About Videos Doing Rounds Online Allegedly From The Ill-Fated Ethiopian Airlines - ET302

A couple of videos allegedly showing the ill-fated Ethiopian airlines, moments before and after the crash have gone viral online.

The most viral one shows passengers wearing oxygen masks with inflight attendants doing rounds. [/video]

Truth: First of all the video shows a plane with three rows of seats. The 737 Max 8 only has two rows of seats. Secondly, the video is taken at night, the ET302 flight crashed during the day. Thirdly, at the time of distress, the ill-fated airline was nosediving making it impossible that inflight attendants would be standing. Finally, there were no reports of cabin decompression (loss of pressure)

A second video shows an aircraft stalling midair after takeoff. The plane then runs out of lack as it falls to the ground like a stone. Bursting into flames. [/video]

Truth: That is the video of a Boeing 747 taking off from Bagram Airfield in Kabul, Afghanistan, April 2013. It was a cargo plane carrying heavy military equipments, that loosened gathering most of the weight at the tail rendering the aircraft inoperable. 7 crew members died.

A third one that is almost believable, it shows a person taking videos of a recent crash site. The video shows bodies, luggage and twisted wreckage strewn all over a field. [/video]

Truth: The Ethiopian Airlines is said to have nosedived at great speed into the ground, obliterating most things. We haven't read incidences of fires burning long after the crash.

Truth is: All those videos are fake.

By the time of publishing this article, Ethiopian Airlines had not released an official statement to denounce or confirm the videos.
