Fact Check: Will Kenyan University Students Begin Wearing Uniforms?
Newsroom Updated 1 min read
This morning, what looked to be like a screengrab of a Citizen TV news template caused a mini-panic online as Kenyans were left in disbelief following the news that Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha had announced that University students in the country would soon begin donning school uniforms.
It took the keen eyes of fake news busters who established that the screengrab doing rounds had been “photoshopped”. CAPTION: Original screengrab. CAPTION: Edited out screengrab that has since gone viral on social media. Kenyans have been urged to make sure they verify such information whenever they come across it on social media before sharing it around.
The Education Ministry is yet to comment on the matter.
