Equitel: The Weakest Link In Equity Bank's System, Conmen Are Having A Field Day

James Mwangi, Equity Bank CEO, the bank yesterday rebranded after 35 years of service, however, systems still remain in the hands of conmen.

Even as Equity Bank Of Stealing oops, of Kenya celebrated 35 years of service, the bank has not dealt satisfactorily with the issue of hackers that are having a field day, stealing from customers every waking day.

Here is another case of the weakest link in Equity Bank systems.

I want my fellow Kenyans to be aware that they are not alone in Equity Bank sufferings.

Two of my friends have in the last two weeks lost money due to conmen. The thing is they (conmen) are so updated with personal details of the account that a personal can easily believe them. For instance when they called me using this line; +254101303002, they got in my equitel line, even though my equitel line is only used for transactions and not for any other purpose, they knew my balance and my branch.

Fortunately for me I was aware of them, I hang up on them.

Raising so many integrity questions

Question in many people's mind is who within equity is exposing our details to commen, isn't Equity able to protect customers data?

Are equity staff not part of conning cartel?

I know Equity will not respond , but as for me and my house, we are scouting for alternatives.
