Eight Nairobi County Executive Staff Members Have Been In Office Despite Their Contracts Having Expired
Newsroom Updated 1 min read
Nairobi governor Mike Sonko is on the spot over the contracts of his executive committee staff with eight of them reportedly still in office despite their contracts having expired and yet to be renewed.
The staff members are alleged to be conducting official county government transactions despite being in office illegally.
To make the matters worse, Finance and Economic Planning executive Mr. Allan Igambi was quoted saying he had been given a one year contract which he wasn't sure of when it was supposed to expire. “I was given a one year contract but I have to refer to the document to see when it lapsed,” he said. MCAs have now turned on the Acting county attorney David Aseko and accused him of abetting the alleged illegality ad demanded an explanation from him regarding the expired contracts.
This is the latest in a series of scandals that have faced Mike Sonko's tenure at the Nairobi county office which he has countlessly been accused of mismanaging.
