Drama As Gor Mahia's Official Social Media Accounts Are Sold Off To A Businessman In Florida
Newsroom Updated 1 min read
CAPTION: Winnie Odinga attends a Gor Mahia game at the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi. It is reported that Gor Mahia's official Facebook page was hacked and sold off to a businessman in Florida by a faction of the club's executive. This move is believed to be a revenge mission by a rebellious group at the football club that hasn't quite been supportive of the club's Chairman Ambrose Rachier's decision to appoint Raila Odinga's daughter Winnie Odinga as the new social media and P.R strategist.
They felt that the decision was dictatorial since Mr. Rachier didn't bother consulting anyone before making the appointment official.
It later unfolded that Winnie went along with Mdomo Baggie who started calling social media handlers and giving them orders.
The transition was interpreted that all assets should be handed over to Winnie with a flimsy justification that CAF also needed them and the club now needed to start generating revenue from the accounts.
However, one of the people who created and manages the club's social media accounts declined to play ball and decided that since Winnie can handle the accounts so well, she might as well start creating them from scratch and grow them.
As it stands, both the club's Facebook and Twitter accounts have disappeared.
