Newsroom Updated 1 min read
[ad_1] Kirinyaga police have launched a probe into an incident where the decomposing body of an officer was discovered at a house in Mwea.
According to area police Commander Leah Kithei, the body was found in his friend’s house at Mururi Trading Centre.
The deceased was based at Difathas police post.
He was reported missing on Saturday after his friend went looking for him at the station.
Mr. Michael Chomba, one of the residents from Mururi, said it was the stench emanating from the rented house that prompted them to call police.
The deceased was reportedly last seen at a local bar on Saturday evening in the company of two people: the owner of the house and another one unidentified person.
One suspect has since been arrested and taken him to Wang’uru police station while the body of the deceased is at Kibugi funeral home in Kutus awaiting post mortem.
