1824 club
1824 club along Lang’ata road has been in the limelight more for the wrong reasons.
In December 2018, four revelers were seriously injured after a car (a Toyota Prado) run knocked and over some of them while waiting for a Matatu outside the club. Some reports ais that 3 people were killed during this incident.
In 2015, the club was also at loggerheads with the University of Nairobi (UoN) students organisations SONU after two 'comrades' were beaten like burukenge by the bouncers.
There are other death and near death experiences at this club.
Here’s the recent one.
Hi Cyprian,
So last night was my first time at 1824.
I’ve been seeing all the hype and all so last night my cousins and I decided to go see what the hype was all about at around 3am.
Just as we were ordering for drinks at one of the counters, a fight broke out between some guys. We ignored only for one of them to swing a bottle at the other, it mksees him and landed on my head.
I blacked out from the impact and came to consciousness afew minutes later. The ‘manager’ saw the whole incident and told us that he’ll take care of it.
We asked him how and he became so rude to us. So we decided to Langata Police Station and report and later to langata hospital.
As a club they should take responsibility of what happens and not tell us that the guy ran away when he was actually apprehended by the bouncers after the incident.
Who is the manager protecting?
