“Cyprian Awiti Is A Perfect Example Of Kenya's Depraved, Primitive And Rotten Politics” — Miguna Miguna Speaks After Supreme Court Upholds Awiti's Election
Newsroom Updated 1 min read
Yesterday, Cyprian Awiti's election as Homabay's governor was upheld by the Supreme Court.
The court also ruled that the petitioner, former Kasipul MP Oyugi Magwanga will bear costs for both Awiti and himself.
Following Judge Jackson Onjwang's ruling, former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Miguna Miguna was quick to air his opinion.
Through a tweet, Miguna said that Cyprian Awiti “epitomizes Kenya's depraved, primitive and hopelessly rotten politics of patronage” where “grown men and women kneel, grovel and crawl on their extended tummies to survive” after “looting public resources and rendering their own people destitute”.
The caption was accompanied by a picture of the Homabay Governor kneeling before Raila Odinga and the hashtag #SayNoToUjinga. CAPTION: Cyprian Awiti kneeling before Raila Odinga. This is how Kenyans on social media reacted to Miguna's remarks.
