Criminal Ring: Trans Nzoia First Lady Extorting boda boda Riders
Newsroom Updated 2 min read
Trans Nzoia County First Lady Lydia Khaemba
Couple of Trans Nzoia boda boda riders have reached us with public concern and something that is believed to be looting in the county revenue office, a department that has also been manipulated by Lydia Khaemba (one of Khaemba's wives).
The boda boda ridera are wondering why they're beinh issued with 3 stickers. One from Jambopay (direct link to the lady and a consultant), another issued by revenue office and another issued by enforcement office. They need to know which receipt is legal.
The riders says that whenever they're arrested the rogue gang led by someone by name Ombima charges them between Ksh20k and 30k fine, there is no limit to or on how much you should pay.
The harassment stinks to high heaven, in that If you've never paid for the sticker you are required to pay for the the months you've missed. Trans Nzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba
The riders want to know between Ombima and county enforcement officer Mr Eliud Nabimba, who is the head of enforcement department. It is believed that Ombima and the powerful Lady Khaemba made an agreement on fee collection on boda boda that Ksh10m will be going to the county and the other Ksh10m be divided amongst her and Ombima, this is after they agreed on a target of Ksh20m revenue collection.
Boda boda needs a space in the ongoing building of bus terminus since they were asked to pay a sum of Ksh3k per stage in the whole of Trans Nzoia county. We have more than 6000 motorbike stages.
