Cabinet Reshuffle: Sports CS Rashid Echesa Fired

On Friday morning, President Uhuru Kenyatta reshuffled his cabinet.

The president sacked Sports Cabinet Secretary (CS) Rashid Echesa, replacing him with Ambassador Amina Mohammed.

Ms. Mohammed moves from the Education docket.

Uhuru nominated KNEC chairman Prof. George Magoha as the new Education CS.

"In accordance with Article 152(5) of the Constitution, as read together with Article 152(1)(d) of the Constitution, the appointment of Mr. Rashid Echesa Mohamed, as a Cabinet Secretary has been vacated," read the Executive Order. A statement from state house read in part Principle Secretaries Amina Hirsi, the Permanent Secretary (PS) for Tourism has been sacked.

Ms. Susan M. Mochache,  Ministry of Health

Mr. Ali Noor Ismail, CBS, State Department of Cooperatives

Dr. Ibrahim M. Mohamed, CBS, State Department of Environment and Forestry

Eng. Peter Kiplagat, OGW, State Department of Labour

Dr. Margaret Mwakima, CBS, State Department of East African Community Affairs (EAC)

Dr. Susan Koech, State Department of Wildlife
