ODM leader Raila  Odinga has now stepped up criticism of  Deputy President William Ruto now vocally depicting him as one determined to buy his way to power.

Raila, claiming Ruto treats the poor the same way a hunter treats prey said Kenyans will not pay back the donations and gifts he has been giving out lately by electing him. He claims that Ruto’s public displays of charity were designed to hypnotize the poor.

“It is like a trick you play on a chicken; you throw crumbs, it becomes dazed and you capture it.  You do not fatten an animal because you love it. The chicken realizes when it’s too late that all you intended was to turn it into the stew,” said Raila.

Together with Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho, the Nasa Candidate accused Ruto of  “pouring money in churches to prove he is generous and God-fearing after plundering public resources”.

“You will not be elected because you are telling people you were born poor or they are poor. You will be elected because of the vision you have,” Joho directly addressed the Dp.

The Deputy President William Ruto, however, says he will not cease helping the church and Kenyans in general amid claims from his detractors that he is swaying the church in his favour through donations ahead of the 2022 elections.

Ruto who spoke in Kitengela Kajiado County said he will not be intimidated and coerced by what he termed as the 'deep state'.

Ruto who spoke In Kajiado said his journey to the house on top of the hill can only be stopped by Kenyans who he said, will decide who their next President will be.

According to the DP who was accompanied by a section of leaders from Mount Kenya region, Kenyans will not be swayed to vote along tribal lines.
