Breaking: Iran releases video of shooting down US RQ-4 drone

Iranian government has released a video showing the downing of the US RQ-4 spy drone by the Iranian Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC)

The flight path also shows that the drone was inside Iranian territory

IRGC said the aircraft had violated Iranian airspace, and that the incident sent a “clear message to America”.

But the US military insisted the drone had been over international waters at the time, and condemned what it called an “unprovoked attack” by the IRGC.

It comes at a time of escalating tension between the US and Iran.

The U.S drone was targeted by domestically built ADS, named 3rd Khordad (pictured below) Iran has been building its own weapons since 1992 after the Iraqi - Iran war. This was so as to counter the weapons embargo imposed on it by the US and its western allies.

Since then Iran manufactures her own tanks, armored personnel carriers, missiles, radars, boats, submarines, unmanned aerial vehicles, and fighter planes.
