In an letter dated 27th September, 2019, the Managing Director of Gamcode Limited trading as Betin Kenya declared all staff redundant.
The MD says the business environment has been harsh for them since they have not traded since July, 2019. Internal Memo This letter serves as a notice of termination by reason of redundancy. This has been occasioned by the fact that we have not been operational since July 2019 a fact we are all aware of.
Management has had several extensive meetings with relevant Govemment entities regarding the company's licence renewal without much success.
In view of the above, we have had financial constraints as you might all expect.
As a result of the deterioration of the profitability, the management has had to rethink its operational model and to proceed with the exercise of termination on account of redundancy.
The management has made several attempts to find an alternative between July 2019 and September 2019, but it has become financially impossible to maintain the entire workforce.
We hereby notify you that positions will be rendered redundant on 31st October 2019. This notice is given in accordance with section 40 of the Employment Act 2007 and as such the provided for there in will apply to all staff affected.
Please be informed that this should not be construed as a reason to stop the normal operations as all staff should continue with normal shifts and timings as scheduled.
Further, we shall have consultations with employees in an effort to achieve smooth redundancy process.
For further information, clarification or question please feel free to contact the HR Department.
