A teacher from Western Kenya working at Alfarsy Girls Secondary School - a girls-only day school in Mombasa County, sent us the audio below.
In the 8-minute undated clip, the school's dreaded female principal "Madam Fatma" is heard issuing cold threats on the teacher's life for simply demanding his salary arrears.
She boasts of being impeccably influential in Mombasa, and casually mentions the names of several local leaders, including the city's governor himself. “Hello, Nyakundi, Kindly assist me with your WhatsApp number, I send you a video of Alfarsy Secondary School principal threatening to kill a non-local teacher who was demanding his salary arrears. Please share it so that Kenyans can see how tribalism and religious intolerance is affecting non-local teachers here in Mombasa,” the source says.
