Atheists In Kenya President Harrison Mumia Atheists In Kenya President Harrison Mumia has faced the sack after his employer, the Central Bank of Kenya, relived him of his duties over tweets he made in February last year.

According to the institution's acting HR, Terry Ng'ang'a, Mr Harrison Mumia made controversial political statements and in the process compromised his employer's neutrality.

“I thought Alfred Keter was in government. I thought yuko ndani ndani. Mbona anashikwa na his government tena? Useless, being in government is a myth. To those who voted for Jubileee, in what sense are you in government?” read one of the tweets.

Despite being warned by the institution's disciplinary committee, he continued making controversial political statements hence their decision to sack him.

Mumia has now promised to sue the institution over what he terms a “witch-hunt” by the interim HR, insisting that opinions made through his personal Twitter account are his own and do not in any way represent his employer's views.
