On June 3, 2020, a significant development took place in the National Assembly, where four Tanga Tanga MPs were removed from their respective committees by the Jubilee Party.
Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, Bomet Woman Rep Joyce Korir, Cornelly Serem (Aldai), and Robert Pukose (Endebess) received letters from the party informing them of their discharge from the Transport, Public Works and Housing Committee.
The letters, signed by the new Majority Whip Emmanuel Wangwe, cited Standing Orders 176 (1) and 176(2) as the basis for the decision.
According to the letters, the MPs have been given seven days to explain why they should not be axed from the committees.
This move comes just a day after the Jubilee Parliamentary Group Meeting, where Emmanuel Wangwe was appointed the new Majority Whip.
Moses Kuria has been a vocal critic of the Jubilee Government, and has even claimed that his life is in danger due to his criticism.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time the Jubilee Party has taken such action, as four Ruto allies were kicked from Senate committees last month.
