April 1, 2020 - In a bid to reduce paper waste and improve record-keeping, technology company Kibo Capital Group has rolled out an electronic e-receipting application for both mobile money payments and banking deposits via a paybill option.
The PaymentGate app can be used for online banking and is universally verifiable, allowing clients to keep track of their payments records securely.
According to Kibo Capital Group Chief Executive Jasper Ochieng, the app's functionalities come with analytics data, enabling businesses to monitor their sales entries and provide feedback to customers.
“From my experience, Kenyans have a habit of throwing away receipts after shopping at supermarkets and malls. Why cut trees only to throw them away? We need to keep our environment in check”, Ochieng said.
He added that the app reduces human error in sales entries and provides a feedback monitoring mechanism, ensuring that records are kept in secure cloud servers.
PaymentGate is not the only innovation from Kibo Capital Group. The firm has also developed Tsenda, an application that allows users to purchase airtime for any network, and Chapeo, which offers loans to small and medium enterprises.
