Kimani Mbugua, a former Citizen TV presenter, has made a shocking revelation about his past affiliation with the Seventh Day Adventist church. In a video that has gone viral, Mbugua shared his reasons for leaving the church after conducting extensive research.
According to Mbugua, he was born and raised in the SDA church and was ordained as an elder at the age of 16. However, he later realized that the church's teachings were not what they seemed.
"I was very wrong and I am willing to admit it. I was very wrong in how I mistook the level of understanding that SDAs and Adventists have of the material they are consuming," Mbugua said in the video.
Mbugua also accused Ellen G. White, one of the SDA founders, of being a fraud. He claimed to have read every book written by White and was willing to sit down with anyone to discuss his findings.
"I was born in SDA and now I know that SDA is not a church. It is a cult. I was born that way and raised that way. This is the only thing I have known for about 20 years from when I was a child to when I was an adult," Mbugua said.
However, Mbugua's claims have elicited mixed reactions on social media, with some people calling him out for lying. The former presenter had earlier claimed that he was ordained at the age of 16, which SDA members deny has ever happened.
Despite the backlash, Mbugua has stood by his claims and has even apologized for using strong language against White. He has also announced his intention to write a letter to the church to have his name removed from the register.
"I will formally write to the church to officially remove my name from their register, I renounce the SDA faith and I no longer wish to be associated with Seventh Day Adventism," Mbugua said.
