Beatrice Elachi, the Nairobi county speaker, has denied allegations that she spent Ksh. 4 million from county coffers to bleach her skin in Turkey.
According to reports, Elachi was summoned by the EACC and DCI offices to make a statement following the allegations.
However, Elachi has rubbished the claims, stating that she is a naturally beautiful person and does not need to lighten her skin.
She emphasized that she has her own resources, which she has worked hard to earn, and that she will not be bothered by what others do with their own money.
Elachi also warned those who have personal issues with her to come clean and declare their genuine interest, stating that hiding behind the curtains only indicates cowardice.
She further challenged her political adversaries to be careful with the type of wars they pick with her, clarifying that she will not take the disheartening news lying low.
Elachi's denial comes after she was reported to have used county funds to bleach her skin in Turkey, with some speculating that she had been summoned by the EACC and DCI offices to make a statement.
