On Saturday, the top teams in the women's Kenya Handball Federation National League will face off at Kaloleni grounds in Nairobi. The Nairobi Water Queens, champions since 2012, will take on National Youth Service (NYS), while National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) will face Rising Stars.
Nairobi Water coach Jack Ochieng expressed his desire for more competition in the league, citing the team's lack of challenge since its formation. He hopes that this season will bring a change, with other clubs competing for the title.
"We need that push. When you go to the court and you have a predetermined result then you tend to relax and become comfortable," Ochieng said.
NCPB coach Davis Odhiambo remains optimistic, stating that the league title is wide open and any team can win it.
