On October 22, 2019, a local Kenyan blog sparked concern with reports that City Lawyer Cliff Ombeta had been shot along Arwing's Kodhek road in Nairobi by an unknown gang on his way home from work.
However, Ombeta has come out to refute these claims, stating that he was indoors all day and had not been involved in any incident.
According to fellow legal practitioner Nelson Havi, Ombeta was alive, in good health, and about to watch a football match in his house.
Ombeta, who has been at the centre of many high-profile murder cases in Kenya, including the murder case of Dutch businessman Tob Cohen, has clarified that the only possible weaponry that had been close to him was his barber's hair clipper.
