President Uhuru Kenyatta has made new appointments to key state positions, naming former Othaya Member of Parliament Mary Wambui as Chairperson of the National Employment Authority.
Ms. Wambui's appointment was announced by Labor Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yattani in a gazette notice dated October 14th, 2019, and will serve for the next three years.
The National Employment Authority is responsible for providing a comprehensive institutional framework for employment management, enhancing employment promotion interventions, and increasing access to employment by the youth, minorities, and marginalized groups.
Edwin Jacob Abonyo, the widower of former Bomet Governor Dr. Joyce Laboso, has also been appointed as a member of the State Corporations Advisory Committee, alongside other notable individuals.
The committee's role is to advise the government on all matters pertaining to the general administration of State Corporations.
The appointments took effect from October 14th, 2019.
