On September 18, 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta met with Jubilee Party candidate Macdonald Mariga at State House, Nairobi, to wish him success in the Kibra Constituency by-election.
The President, accompanied by Deputy President Dr William Ruto, assured Mariga of his full backing in the contest.
Other leaders present at the meeting included National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale and Jubilee Party Chief Whip Benjamin Washiali.
