Tob Cohen's Autopsy Concludes Amid Court Restrictions ¶
On Wednesday, September 18, 2019, the autopsy on Tob Cohen's body concluded at Chiromo mortuary, but the results remain under wraps due to a court order.
Following a contested postmortem, the autopsy was held by three pathologists, with Sarah Wairimu, Cohen's wife and murder suspect, present. The Nairobi High Court had allowed her to be present at the postmortem, with Justice Stella Mutuku making the ruling on Wednesday morning.
Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor, who represented the State, stated that the pathologists would not disclose details of the findings due to a court order preventing investigations from being discussed in public.
Dr. Andrew Gachi, representing Sarah Wairimu, said that besides the autopsy, other tests would be conducted on Cohen's body to assist detectives in their investigations. These tests include toxicology, DNA tests, and histology.
Dr. Emily Rogena, representing Cohen's family, stated that preliminary test results showed that the body belonged to the late 71-year-old businessman, but more tests would be conducted to confirm the body's identity.
Tob Cohen went missing on July 20 and his body was later found in a septic tank.
