On September 18, 2019, Farouk Kibet made a bold prediction about the 2022 Nairobi senatorial election.
According to Kibet, after a win in the Kibra by-election, Oburu Odinga's son, Emmanuel 'Emmanuel' Mariga, would go on to become Nairobi's senator in 2022.
