On September 18, 2019, Farouk Kibet made a bold prediction about the 2022 Nairobi senatorial election. According to Kibet, the victory of the Jubilee Party candidate in the Kibra by-election was a sign of things to come.
Speaking to Kenya Updates, Kibet stated, 'After our Kibra win, Mariga will be Nairobi's senator in 2022.'
