Published on September 18, 2019, Akothee's visit to Parliament has sparked a heated debate about dress code and personal freedom.

According to eyewitnesses, the singer walked into the Parliament building wearing a lime green skirt suit with a skirt that was significantly above the knee.

Parliament security blocked her from accessing the Members Only restaurant, citing the 'rules' that prohibit women from wearing short skirts or sleeveless tops.

However, Akothee refused to comply with the orderlies' request to wear a kikoi to cover her mini skirt, saying 'My legs are longer than the skirt, Wamenivalsha leso.'

She was eventually escorted out of the Parliament building through the backdoor.

When contacted for a comment, Akothee laughed off the incident, saying she was not bothered by the controversy.

Her fans, however, were quick to defend her, with some even praising her for looking better in clothes.
