Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) soldiers are in a state of panic following the launch of Defence Savings and Credit Co-operative Society Limited (Desacco), a new savings and credit cooperative society.

The Sacco, launched with the blessing of Chief of Defence Forces General Samson Mwathethe, has caused divisions within the military, with some KDF members questioning why they are being forced to join the new Sacco when they are already members of other Saccos.

According to inside sources, soldiers who have taken loans from other Saccos, such as Harambee Sacco, Muhasibu Sacco, Stima Sacco, Mwalimu Sacco, and Metropolitan Sacco, are now at loggerheads with their employer.

They are being forced to join the new Sacco and repay their loans through Desacco, raising concerns about how they will service their loans in previous Saccos.

Furthermore, KDF soldiers are unhappy with the monthly share contributions deductions, which they claim are being forced upon them by their bosses.
