On September 18, 2019, Sarah Wairimu Kamotho, the wife of murdered Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen, was granted access to witness the autopsy at Chiromo Mortuary. The postmortem examination was underway after her lawyers had sought to be present to identify her husband's body.

However, the process was delayed in the morning after lawyer Philip Murgor moved to court to secure an order to have Cohen's wife, who is facing murder charges, witness the exercise. Murgor maintained that Wairimu was the only one who could substantively identify the body.

Chief Government Pathologist Johansen Oduor was leading the exercise, which was postponed the previous day after Wairimu's lawyers rejected the assigned pathologist, Dr. Peter Ndegwa, over alleged bias and prejudice.

Dr. Ndegwa told journalists, 'We have agreed to move the exercise to tomorrow and will be presided over by Dr. Oduor who has been recalled from leave.'

Wairimu has been remanded at Langata Women's Prison and has denied claims that she killed her husband, who had filed a divorce case in court. She will take plea on September 26.
