Published on September 18, 2019, a meeting between Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga and nine aspirants who lost the ticket in the Kibra constituency nominations has led to a refund of Sh250,000 to each of them.
Among the nine aspirants was reggae DJ Kriss Darlin, who had been hosting the reggae music show 'Jam Rock' on NTV.
According to Kisumu Woman Representative Rosa Buyu, who appeared on a morning talk show to defend the party, ODM has apologized to other aspirants in Kibra and has accepted to refund the KSh250,000 that they had each paid as nomination fee.
ODM denied that Raila was furious at how the primaries were conducted, stating that 'Mr Odinga acknowledges that there were challenges in the nominations, with names missing from the voter register but those were not tailored or deliberately introduced to favour or disenfranchise any aspirant.'
