Kenyan teacher Br Peter Tabichi, the 2019 Global Teacher award winner, has been making headlines with his high-profile engagements on education.

Tabichi's visit to the White House, where he met US President Donald Trump, was a highlight of his trip.

Published on September 18, 2019, the meeting was part of a series of engagements that saw Tabichi visit Google offices in Silicon Valley and attend meetings in Paris, Armenia, London, Dubai, and Las Vegas.

According to Tabichi, the meeting with President Trump was a dream come true. 'It was all like a dream. I had received an invite from the White House as part of the line-up meetings I will be having here in the US. After the security protocol, we were ushered in to meet President Trump who was very eager to meet us,' he said.

Tabichi described the laughter-filled meeting as lasting about 15 minutes, during which President Trump appreciated his efforts in teaching and emerging top in the 2019 Global Teacher award.
