On September 17, 2019, a rally organized by Senator Susan Kihika at the Nakuru ASK Showground brought together several women leaders affiliated with Deputy President William Ruto's camp within the Jubilee outfit.

Nakuru Town East MP David Gikaria, a polygamist, took to the stage and introduced his three wives, Veronica Wairimu and Dorcas Wangui, to the crowd, joking about his ability to manage multiple relationships.

He said, “I am the Nakuru Town East MP. And, when one has a wife or wives, he has to acknowledge. I have several Nakuru Town East first ladies. Let me introduce my first ladies to you.”

His wives, dressed in colorful attire, were introduced as First Lady Number One and First Lady Number One B, with the third wife absent but promised to be introduced another day.

The MP's blunt admission of his polygamous lifestyle sparked laughter and attention from the crowd, highlighting the complexities of traditional relationships in Kenya.
