Minority Leader in the National Assembly, John Mbadi, has vowed to support an opposing candidate in the upcoming Kibra by-election, dealing a blow to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

Mbadi, who is also the ODM's Director of Elections, made the announcement in a statement, citing the need for the party to support a candidate who can win the election.

The move is seen as a major setback for the ODM, which had been banking on the by-election to boost its chances in the 2022 general elections.

It is worth noting that the Kibra by-election is a crucial test for the ODM, which has been facing internal divisions and challenges in recent times.
