On September 16, 2019, Sarah Wairimu, the widow of Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen, appeared in court to request bail. Her lawyer, Philip Murgor, argued that her home in Kitisuru, valued at Ksh. 400 million, risked being grabbed since nobody lived at the house.
Furthermore, Murgor stated that Sarah's pending divorce case needed to be concluded for her to receive her 50% share of the billionaire's wealth. He refuted claims that Tob's property, including his Kitisuru home, had been handed over to his sister, Gabrielle Van Straten, as reported by the media.
Sarah Wairimu was arrested in connection to her husband's disappearance and later held as the main suspect in Cohen's murder. The Dutch tycoon had been missing for 40 days before his lifeless body was discovered in an empty underground water tank at his Kitisuru home.
On September 17, 2019, Judge Jesse Lessit consequently banned the media from publishing details of the Cohen Murder case until further notice. Sarah's plea taking is scheduled for September 26, 2019.
