On September 17, 2019, the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) issued a warrant of arrest for Maryanne Nyokabi Kamotho, daughter of former KANU chairman JJ Kamotho, over her alleged links to the murder of Dutch tycoon Tob Cohen.
The warrant was issued following allegations that Nyokabi Kamotho had met with Sarah Wairimu Kamotho, the estranged wife of Gilgil MP Peter Karanja, and had coffee with her a day before Cohen went missing.
According to DCI sources, the body of Tob Cohen was found in an underground water tank at his home in Kitisuru, Spring Valley, Nairobi, on Friday afternoon.
Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti was quoted as saying that the body was discovered inside a septic tank in Cohen's compound at Kitisuru, Spring Valley Road in Nairobi.
"Cohen's death is a gruesome murder, they took their time to kill innocent Cohen. He was bound (on) legs, hands, and neck before he was murdered and then they hid him in an underground water tank. They took their time," said Kinoti.
