Gusii Youth Leaders Condemn Jubilee Administration, Back Raila Odinga

February 1, 2018, Kisii, Kenya

Leaders of the National Resistance Movement Youth League, Gusii Edition, have issued a statement condemning the Jubilee administration's attempts to silence the media and have pledged their support for Raila Odinga, whom they recognize as the duly elected People's President.

The Gusii youth leaders, who claim to be part of the National Super Alliance (NASA), have also disowned Matiang'i, a son of the soil, for his actions and way of doing things, which they say do not augur well with the Kisii cultural upbringing.

They have also called out the two Governors of Nyamira and Kisii, HE Nyagarama and HE Ongwae, for allegedly misleading the Gusii people by claiming to be part of NASA while secretly meeting with Jubilee strategists.

The Gusii youth leaders have vowed not to be intimidated by the Jubilee administration's threats, including arresting vocal NASA youth leaders, switching off leading TV stations, and propagating hate on social media.

They have also announced plans to start the process of recalling Members of County Assembly who failed to execute their mandate of representing the interests of their people in the Assemblies and skipped passing the People's Assembly bill.

Beavon Magare, Marube Dennis, Amecha Tonny, and other Gusii Youth for Change leaders signed the statement.
