On Monday, a heinous crime shook the Birunda area in Trans Nzoia County, where an 11-year-old girl was found defiled and murdered.
According to reports, the minor was lured to River Sikhendu, where her yet-to-be-identified aggressor committed the crimes.
The body of the deceased has since been moved to a Kitale mortuary, where it awaits further investigation.
Two suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident, and investigations continue.
Area residents have demanded justice, calling on the relevant authorities to ensure those responsible are brought to book.
