Manchester United's Nemanja Matic is optimistic about the team's young talent, but he also hopes to see more game time for experienced players.
On September 14, 2019, Manchester United ended a three-match winless streak by defeating previously unbeaten Leicester City 1-0 at Old Trafford, with Marcus Rashford scoring the winning goal from a penalty kick.
The match saw a mix of young and experienced players in the lineup, including 21-year-olds Marcus Rashford, Daniel James, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, as well as 23-year-old Andreas Pereira and 22-year-old Scott McTominay.
Manchester United's focus on youth under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is something Matic appreciates, saying, "I don't believe in age - good players or bad players. It doesn't matter if you are 18 or 35, so I think who played today deserved to play."
With the team juggling domestic and European commitments, Matic will be looking to make his second start of the season in their Europa League campaign against Astana on September 19, 2019.
Despite being frustrated with limited playing time, Matic remains committed to the team, saying, "Of course (it has been frustrating), I want to play, I always give my best for the team."
