Published on September 16, 2019, a viral video by fitness YouTuber Hudson White of Buff Dudes has shed light on the consequences of a prolonged break from exercise.

White, who has over two million subscribers, suffered a severe ankle injury that left him unable to work out for 90 days. During this period, he noticed a significant decline in his cardiovascular system and overall strength.

However, White's mental state was affected more profoundly. He struggled with doubts about his ability to recover from the injury and return to his previous fitness level.

"The physical aspect of going through this can be pretty hard," White said in the video. "But the mental one can actually be a lot worse."

Despite the challenges, White has emerged from his injury with a newfound determination to surpass his pre-injury fitness level. He is now following a modified workout routine that includes cardio in a pool, mobility exercises, and bodyweight exercises.

White's experience serves as a reminder of the importance of patience and caution when recovering from an injury. "Coming back from an injury, it's very tempting to want to get back to where you were before," he said. "But I have to keep reminding myself to take it easy... The road is just beginning."
