Frail Suspect in Robina Moraa Murder Case Shocks Eldoret Judge

On Monday, September 16, 2019, Eldoret High Court Judge Grace Sitati directed that a suspect linked to the murder of police officer Robina Moraa be taken for medical examination at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital.

The suspect, Joshua Ogachi, was arraigned in court in a frail condition, unable to stand on his own and requiring support from security officers.

According to reports, Ogachi had attempted to take his own life by swallowing poison and was arrested in Nakuru on Friday while seeking treatment at the Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital.

Police officer Robina Moraa was found dead in her rented house in the Annex area of Eldoret on Thursday, September 12, 2019, with suspicions pointing to her estranged lover.

Judge Sitati directed that the suspect be arraigned in court on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, after undergoing treatment.
