Published on September 16, 2019, BBC journalist Makena has spoken out about her year, which has been marked by both ups and downs.
At the center of the controversy was a cheating scandal that made headlines in July, after Makena's Mercedes Benz was vandalized with a message accusing her of infidelity.
"MAKENA CHEATER," read the message printed on one side of the car.
Despite keeping a low profile, Makena has spoken out through her Instagram account, sharing her reflections on the year.
"So this year has been my year of Yes! Saying yes to things that move me out of my comfort zone, challenge me, excite me, move me & grow me. Lots of lessons learnt through it all," she wrote.
