On September 15, 2019, Information, Communications and Technology Cabinet Secretary Joe Mucheru announced the appointment of two new members to the Konza Technopolis Development Authority (KoTDA) board.
James Agin, the director of corporate banking at Barclays Bank, and Elias Yano, a marketing professional with experience at Rift Valley Bottlers, will serve on the board for three years.
They replace development economist James Atema and ex-UAP Holdings CEO Dominic Kiarie, who stepped down from the board.
The KoTDA board is responsible for overseeing the development of the 5,000-acre Konza Technopolis, a multi-billion shilling project aimed at contributing about two percent to Kenya's GDP once phase one is operational.
Upon completion, the development will include residential and commercial complexes, a Sh1.5 billion headquarters, and a range of infrastructure projects, including roads, bridges, water, and sewer systems.
